Sex Education returns on Netflix on September 17.
The official logline for the season reads:
“It’s a new year, Otis is having casual sex, Eric and Adam are official, and Jean has a baby on the way. Meanwhile, new headteacher Hope (played by Jemima Kirke) tries to return Moordale to a pillar of excellence, Aimee discovers feminism, Jackson gets a crush and a lost voicemail still looms. Prepare for commitment animals, alien phenomena, vulva cupcakes and much more of Madam Groff.”
With Eric and Adam as a full-on couple, Ola and Lily (Tanya Reynolds) continuing their romance, and Cal and other nonbinary and LGBTQ+ characters, Sex Education’s third season is its queerest yet.
The official trailer for the show, released September 7, shows the full scope of Head Teacher Haddon’s redesign for the school. The students wear grey uniforms, walk-in single-file lines, and receive abstinence-based sex education, with a teacher yelling, “Sex will ruin your life.” It looks like it will fall to Otis and Maeve to bring the school back to its sex-positive, even though this is still tense with the show’s will-they-won’t-they couple.
The series is written and created by Laurie Nunn and produced by Eleven.
