Bretman Rock made history as the first gay man to appear on the cover of Playboy magazine, with bunny ears and a killer pair of pumps.
The 23-year-old social media influencer was featured on the magazine’s digital cover in October, dressed as a Playboy bunny rabbit in underwear and towering platforms, not to mention a bow tie and one bunny ear.
He follows in the footsteps of Kate Moss, Dolly Parton and Kylie Jenner wearing the famous outfit on the cover.
Rock, who is Filipino-American, rose to fame as a beauty influencer on YouTube. He also starred in MTV’s recent reality show about his life, called MTV Following: Bretman Rock.
Speaking about filming, he said: “Playboy having a man on the cover is a huge deal for the LGBT community, for the black community, and it’s all so surreal. I’m like, “Is this really happening now?” and at the same time “I’m so handsome.”
She celebrated the cover’s groundbreaking appearance on Twitter in a typically lighthearted style, tweeting, “I’m a Playboy bunny DUHHHHHHHH,” which went viral with over 12,000 retweets.
Rock is the third man to appear solo on the magazine’s cover, following the late Hugh Heffner, and musician and LGBTQ+ community ally Bad Bunny, who graced Playboy’s first digital cover in 2020.
The magazine closed its print edition in 2020 after COVID-19 “accelerated” plans to go fully digital.
