Translate webpages in Chrome

On a desktop computer

When you come across a page written in a language you don’t understand, you can use Chrome to translate the page.

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. Go to a webpage written in another language.
  3. On the right of the address bar, click Translate pastedGraphic.png.
  4. Click on your preferred language.
  5. Chrome will translate your current webpage.

Not working? Try refreshing the webpage. If it’s still not working, right-click anywhere on the page. Then, click Translate to [Language].

You can also choose to translate any page automatically in a chosen language.

On an iPhone/iPad

When you come across a page written in a language you don’t understand, you can use Chrome to translate the page.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome pastedGraphic_1.png.
  2. Go to a webpage written in another language.
  3. At the top, select the language you want to translate to.
    • To change the default language, tap Settings pastedGraphic_2.png pastedGraphic_3.png More languages and select the language.
  1. Chrome will translate the webpage this one time.
    • To always translate pages in this language, tap Settings pastedGraphic_4.png pastedGraphic_5.png Always translate [language].

If you don’t find Translate at the top of a page, you can request a translation.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome pastedGraphic_6.png.
  2. Tap More pastedGraphic_7.png pastedGraphic_8.png Translate.

If Chrome doesn’t offer to translate, try refreshing the webpage. If you still can’t tap Translate, the language might not be available for translation.

On an Android

When you come across a page written in a language you don’t understand, use Chrome to translate the page into the language you want.

  1. On your Android device, open Chrome pastedGraphic_9.png.
  2. Go to a webpage written in another language.
  3. In the notification at the top of the screen, tap the language that you want to translate the page to.
    • To change the default language:
      • Tap Settings pastedGraphic_10.png pastedGraphic_11.png More languages.
      • Select the language.
    • To always translate pages in this language, tap Settings pastedGraphic_12.png pastedGraphic_13.png Always translate pages in [language].

Not working? Try refreshing the webpage. If you still can’t tap Translate, the language might not be available for translation.

If you don’t find a Translate notification at the top of your screen, you can request a translation.

  1. On your Android device, open Chrome pastedGraphic_14.png.
  2. To the right of the address bar, tap More pastedGraphic_15.png pastedGraphic_16.png  Translate…

Translate webpages in Safari

Any Apple device. There is no Safari for other OS.

  1. In the Safari app pastedGraphic_17.png on your Mac, go to the web page you want to translate.
    If the web page can be translated, the Smart Search field displays the Translate button pastedGraphic_18.png.
  2. Click the Translate button pastedGraphic_19.png, then choose a language.

If a language isn’t available

You may be able to make more languages available in the Translate menu by adding the languages in Language & Region settings. After you add a language to your list of preferred languages, if a translation is available to that language, it appears in the Translate menu in Safari.

Translate webpages in Firefox Mozilla

Firefox version 118 includes a built-in translation feature that allows you to translate website content without an add-on.

  1. On the right-hand side of the toolbar, click the translation icon. pastedGraphic_20.png
  2. Click the cog icon located on the top right side of the translation panel. pastedGraphic_21.png
  3. Choose the setting you want to apply. pastedGraphic_22.png
  4. A checkmark will appear to confirm that the selected setting is enabled. pastedGraphic_23.png
  5. To revert a change, simply reselect the setting, and the checkmark will disappear, indicating that it’s disabled.

This is how, very simply you can have GAY45 in any language you wish.
