IKEA Pride Bag

We know you liked the Ikea Frakta bag wearing it all over the place. Kind of fashion statement. Well, last year, IKEA gave its FRAKTA bag a Pride month makeover, and now the celebratory piece returns in honour of the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOBIT) and the LGBTQ+ Pride month.

This year the bag has been renamed “STORSTOMMA,” and will be sold with all profits going towards local LGBTQ+ charities chosen by IKEA stores across the UK and Ireland.

IKEA’s rainbow-coloured bag hopes to encourage people in acting against discrimination towards those of the LGBTQ+ community and to promote equal rights.

Peter Jelkeby, country retail manager and chief sustainability officer, IKEA UK and Ireland, commented on the STORSTOMMA’s impact, saying, “We know that lockdown will disproportionately affect the LGBT+ community. With many isolated from their support networks, and with Pride celebrations postponed, it has never been more important to show our support and encourage everyone to provide a safe and welcoming space for members of the LGBT+ community and ‘be someone’s home’.”

You can find IKEA STORSTOMMA rainbow on the IKEA website for € 2,-
