A first look at the third and final season of Derry Girls is finally here — and just in time for St. Patrick’s Day.
Created and written by Lisa McGee, Derry Girls follows a group of Northern Irish teens and their families in 1990s Londonderry, who always find ways to amuse themselves and get on with their lives amidst a divided political atmosphere.
Who’s in the Derry Girls season 3 cast?
The regular Derry Girls cast of Nicola Coughlan (Clare Devlin), Saoirse-Monica Jackson (Erin Quinn), Louisa Harland (Orla McCool), Jamie-Lee O’Donnell (Michelle Mallon) and Dylan Llewellyn (James Maguire) are all set to return, as well as Siobhan McSweeney as headmistress Sister Michael.
What is the plot for Derry Girls season 3?
The plot is very much under wraps, but it sounds promising. Nicola Coughlan told her Twitter followers that the storylines “are the best we’ve ever done”.
We could also see how the ceasefire affects the gang, and Lisa McGee admitted there may be romance in the air for James and Erin, who appeared jealous of his potential love interest at the end of season two.
“It might be interesting to explore that a bit more because they’re great together,” McGee told the Radio Times.
She added: “I think the potential is there.
“It’s something I’m interested in seeing – I might toy with it next season, I’m not sure.”
